OP DOC CABERNET SAUVIGNON
It is not just popular wisdom that says red wine is good for the blood. This is also the conclusion of a study made by Professor Masquellier at the University of Bordeaux 30 years ago. The most recent research, including the latest statistics from the World Heath Organisation, confirms the extraordinary properties of tannins which occur naturally in the fruit and shoots of the vine. Tannins are receptors of free radicals, giving protection against heart attack, hardening of the arteries and premature ageing. Over 20 years, Cabanon developed a method of making a wine whose health-enhancing tannins are in total harmony with the noble organic quality of classic vines. It is produced with very low yields of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Bonarda grapes that are harvested at the peak of ripeness. Fermented in oak barrels, it is bottled in the second year after a closely monitored period of maturing. It is ready for drinking only after a further period in the bottle.
To the eye, it brings an intense ruby colour embellished with light flashes of youth. On the nose, there is a complex blend of autumnal aromas and jam, with subtle notes of vanilla and plant life that develop an intense, ethereal bouquet. On the palate, it is well-structured, full, smooth, warm and rewarding, bringing notes of ripe fruit and delicate floral fragrances that culminate in the long aftertaste’s soft tannins. This is a wine that grows with age. It has great presence and goes with any meal and every occasion. Serve at room temperature. |
