Produced with Bonarda, Vespolina and Croatina grapes from old vines. The grapes are left to ripen until well into autumn. Then, after a gentle pressing, the must ferments in small barrels for a set time. There follows another 18 months of refinement. In the bottle, under a constantly controlled temperature, a second, completely natural fermentation takes place. As the rich garnet colour and purple highlights intimate, this is a substantial wine. Its big, ethereal nose has notes of preserved fruits which are emphasised by the smooth foam. On the palate, it shows strength and warmth with flavours of well-ripened red fruits and dried flowers. The aftertaste is long and rich, illustrating the earthy muskiness of autumn.
